About us
We're engineering data infrastructure to power the clean energy economy.
GHG levels are rising and so is the demand for energy. We’ve previously built ad-hoc software tools for sustainability and energy teams (see here, here, and here). From helping them, we learned that accurate and reliable utility data collection blocked most organizations from taking effective action against climate change.
Solving climate change requires several major steps, and it boils down to how we use and harness energy. (Speed and Scale, John Doerr).
Cleaner energy sources have already disrupted electricity supply and lowered prices in recent years. However, many companies are not well-positioned to benefit from this change.
The core challenge: companies barely understand their energy usage enough to start optimizing. Prices fluctuate every 15 minutes, and without data, companies can’t find the best rates and take advantage of cleaner energy.
That’s where Nectar comes in. Our first product is a utility intelligence platform that aggregates data from utility bills and online portals. We're building the data infra to power the future clean energy economy, and we're just getting started.
Our team
We're a group of engineers and business leaders who have built iconic products, data pipelines, and technological infrastructure at companies including Scale AI, Amazon, Two Sigma, and Google. We've previously taught university courses, organized hackathons, infiltrated MIT's email servers, starred on TV shows, and built state-of-the-art AI applications.
We're constantly challenging the status quo and inventing what is possible at the intersection of technology and impact; and we're fortunate to be building in a time of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence.
If you love hard problems and want to work on the most impactful challenge of our lifetime, we'd love to hear from you at team@nectarclimate.com.
