New to waste? See Waste tracking for setup, monitoring, and FAQs. For other questions, see the Analytics FAQ.
Navigate to Analytics > Waste to explore waste generation across your portfolio by stream, material, and site.

Tabs

The page has four views:
  • Total — Monthly totals table, consumption trend chart, and year-over-year comparison.
  • By Waste Stream — Breakdown table, composition pie chart, yearly stacked distribution, and stream trend over time.
  • By Waste Material — Same widgets grouped by waste material instead of stream.
  • Inspect — Aggregation inspector to drill into the meters and bills behind an aggregate for the selected period.

Charts and tables

Each tab renders a combination of:
  • Monthly tables — Usage by month for the selected grouping.
  • Trend charts — Stacked bar charts showing how waste changes over time.
  • Composition pie chart — Proportional breakdown across streams or materials (stream and material tabs).
  • Year-over-year comparison — Total tab compares the current period to the prior year.
  • Yearly stacked distribution — Stream and material tabs show how the mix shifts year over year.
Together these views help you understand both the composition of your waste and how it trends over time.
Waste materials are classified from the waste description on source documents. Waste streams come from your processing rules. Usage without a material or stream appears under Unknown and stays in totals. Material without a resolving rule surfaces as No Rule.

Filtering

Use the filter controls at the top of the page to adjust:
  • Date range — Select a preset or custom start and end date.
  • Sites — Filter to one or more specific sites.
  • Weight — Reported (weighed when available) uses a measured weight when the record has one, and otherwise converts invoiced volume with density. Invoiced only ignores measured weights. See weight basis.
When some reported tonnage is calculated from volume, the Total tab states that share. Measured weight coverage, on the same tab, lists measured and calculated tons by site. The inspector shows that share for the month you open, and each contributing waste row is marked Actual or Calculated.
