Forward utility bills to a dedicated Nectar address — your company inbox — and Nectar processes the attachments the same way it processes uploads. Processed bills match to existing accounts (including accounts collected by an online connection) or create a standalone account when no match exists.
The company inbox card appears on Data Input > Connections when your company has a forwarding address. If you don’t see it, email support@nectarclimate.com to request one.

Copy the company inbox

The Company inbox card shows your unique address. Copy it and use it as the destination for utility bill emails.
This is not an online connection. There is no per-utility email connection to create, reconnect, or bulk-import. One inbox serves the whole company.

How to send bills

Use whichever path is practical:
  • Auto-forward from your mailbox — set a rule so utility bill emails go to the company inbox.
  • Ask the utility to send bills there — some providers let you add a billing email on the portal.
  • Forward individual messages — useful for a one-off statement.
Nectar extracts PDF or image attachments and processes them. Jobs from forwarded mail appear on Data Input > Uploads with source Email. The Sender column shows who emailed the inbox.

How matching works

Once a forwarded bill is processed:
  1. Nectar reads the statement and extracts account numbers, meters, usage, and charges.
  2. It matches the bill to an existing account in your company when it can — including accounts that already have an online connection.
  3. If nothing matches, Nectar creates a standalone account so the bill still lands in Data Inventory.
You do not need a separate connection per utility for email. Prefer an online connection when portal login is available; use the company inbox for utilities without a portal, or to fill history the portal doesn’t keep.

Tips

  • Set up auto-forwarding rules so new statements arrive without a manual step.
  • After an online connection is live for the same accounts, turn off forwarding for that utility so you don’t collect the same bill twice.
  • If a forwarded bill fails processing, open it on the Uploads page and reprocess with feedback.
