Frequently asked questions

If your company list is empty:
  1. Make sure you accepted your invite with the same email address used to sign in.
  2. Ask a company admin to add you under Settings → Company → Members (Add member — Admin, Editor, Viewer, or Site-only).
  3. Or ask an organization admin to add you to the Admin Team under Settings → Organization → General — that grants access to every company.
Creating a new company is Settings → Organization → Data Repository → CompaniesAdd company. Then refresh your session.
This usually means your session expired or did not initialize correctly. Sign out, sign in again, and retry from a fresh browser tab. If it persists, email support@nectarclimate.com with the URL and timestamp.
First successful collection often finishes within hours, depending on utility portal access, credential validity, and historical availability from the provider. Allow up to about 48 hours before treating the first pull as unusually delayed while the connection is still pending.
If Data Input, Data Inventory, and similar items look unavailable, you likely have no company yet — those items stay in the sidebar but are disabled until you have at least one company. Follow the steps in “I signed in but cannot see any companies.” Company role (Admin / Editor / Viewer) does not hide Data Input. Features such as Agent, Bill Pay, Cost Management, and Savings only appear when that company has them enabled.
No. If Home shows a banner to set your display name, open Settings → Personal → General and enter a real name (not an email). That banner is separate from missing companies — disabled Data Input / Data Inventory means you still need company access.
Set up sites first, then connections. Site structure helps Nectar map incoming data correctly. Start with Sites overview, then Connections.
Yes. In How to create a connection, search the provider directory. If nothing matches, continue by adding with website, enter Utility provider name and Utility website URL, then Save & continue so Nectar can still build an online connection to that portal. You can also use Uploads or Manual entry if you want to supply bills without using the online flow.
Developers should start with For developers, create an API key in Settings → Organization → Developer (Add API key), then follow API getting started.
Use Help → Submit Issue (the form already sends the current page URL), or email support@nectarclimate.com with your company name, page URL, screenshots, and exact error text. Screenshots for new issues still go by email when the dialog asks for them. This shortens troubleshooting time significantly.
