Projects, Rebates, and Grid Programs
Nectar identifies the sites with the most opportunity, supports energy projects such as LED lighting, HVAC and controls, solar, storage, and EV charging, and applies for utility rebates, incentives, grants, and grid programs such as demand response with your approval.

Utility rebates, incentives, and grid programs are tied to specific sites, measures, and deadlines. They go unclaimed when nobody is matching the program rules to the meters that would qualify, or when the application is started after the equipment is already installed. Nectar uses the bill and interval history already collected to see which sites have the usage, the demand, or the equipment case that a program is written for.
Projects such as LED lighting, HVAC and controls, solar, storage, and EV charging are recorded with their cost, timing, and expected savings. Nothing is enrolled and no application is submitted without your written approval. Where a partner delivers the project, the roles are set out in a separate agreement. The bill history used to pick the site is the same history used to measure the result, so the application and the savings report do not depend on a second export.
Challenge
Rebates and incentives go unclaimed because no one tracks them.
Solution
Nectar identifies the rebates, incentives, and grants available to each site, prepares and submits applications with your approval, and tracks each payment through to receipt.
Challenge
Demand response and capacity programs are hard to evaluate.
Solution
Nectar models program participation against each site’s interval and billing data. No site is enrolled without your written approval, and roles for any partner-delivered project are set out in a separate agreement.
Challenge
Project savings are estimated, not measured.
Solution
Energy, water, and capital projects are recorded with their cost, timing, and expected savings, measured against a weather-normalized baseline, and sites are ranked by opportunity for the next round of investment.
Applications tied to the sites that qualify
Nectar identifies the rebates, incentives, and grants available to each site and prepares the application from the account data the program asks for. Payment is tracked through to receipt, so an award that was approved but never paid does not sit as a note in a project tracker.
Grid program participation is modeled against each site’s interval and billing data before anyone commits the site. A program that pays for load reduction in a window the site cannot move is declined with that reason, rather than enrolled and then missed.
Savings measured after the project, not estimated before it
Expected savings are stored with the project. After installation, usage and demand are compared with a weather-normalized baseline from the bills. The result is a measured figure with the baseline and the bills behind it, which finance and sustainability can both use.
Sites are ranked by the opportunity left, using the same data, so the next round of investment starts from the buildings that still have the largest gap rather than from the last vendor who called.

Carbon accounting requires accurate utility data collection
Carbon accounting has 3 steps: data collection, emissions calculation, and data reporting. Error rates of 10% in data collection compound into worse error in the CDP report. Garbage in, garbage out.
