Waste, recycling, and organics invoices are often paid from a different inbox than electricity and gas, on a different cadence, and with a contract that names container size, pickup frequency, and contamination fees. When those bills never meet the utility data, a site can be over-serviced for months, and sustainability reporting has to ask the hauler for tonnage that the invoice already implied.

Nectar collects hauler accounts in the same portfolio as electricity, gas, water, and the other commodities. Each charge is matched to its waste type. Containers, service levels, and pickup schedules are stored on the site, and each invoice is audited against the hauler contract.

The invoice checked against the service you bought

Every hauler bill is compared with contracted rates, container sizes, and service frequency. Extra pickups, contamination fees, fuel surcharges, and rate increases that the contract does not allow are flagged with the invoice attached, the same way an electric bill is flagged when a rider does not match.

Service that has drifted is visible because the configured containers and pickup schedule sit next to the tonnage over time. A site paying for six pickups and filling three can be right-sized from the record, instead of from a one-week observation. The comparison uses the months already collected, so a seasonal site is not judged on a single holiday week.

Tonnage and diversion in the same export as energy

Cost, tonnage, and diversion by site are available for reporting because the waste accounts are in the same data set as the utilities. A sustainability export does not need a separate hauler spreadsheet that nobody reconciled to the paid invoices.

Waste stays waste. Nectar does not turn hauler totals into a full supply-chain emissions model. The figures are the measured weights and the charges on the bills, with the invoice as the source. Finance can see the hauler spend by site next to electric and gas, and a service-level change is a record on the account rather than a note that never reaches the next invoice.
