Utility bills for fleet yards and charging depots
A yard that charges trucks is an electric account with a demand charge, not a fuel card. Nectar collects those bills, shows which hours set the peak, and keeps the yard separate from the buildings next to it.
Fleet yards pick up electric load in large steps: a row of chargers, a second shift of vehicles, a hotter month. The utility bills that load as demand, and the demand charge is often set by a few hours. If the yard shares a meter with a building, the building looks expensive. If the yard has its own service, it is an account nobody in facilities owns.
Nectar treats the yard as its own set of accounts. Bills are collected and parsed, interval data is lined up with billed demand where the utility provides it, and the cost sits with the yard instead of being folded into a building average.
Challenge
Charger load is blamed on the building, or ignored because it is not a building.
Solution
Yards with their own service are tracked as their own sites. Where chargers share a building meter, the account is still visible, and the demand is not averaged across unrelated buildings.
Challenge
A new bank of chargers sets a demand charge nobody expected.
Solution
Interval data, where available, is reconciled with billed demand. Alerts go out when a bill sets a higher peak, so the charging schedule can be checked against the hours that caused it.
Challenge
Yard accounts open and close without a process.
Solution
Account opening and closing is handled as yards are added or exited. Missing bills are tracked as tasks rather than discovered at year end.
The yard bill, separate from the building
Electric accounts for depots and yards are collected from the utility and parsed at the line-item level. Energy, demand, taxes, and fees are separated. Fuel accounts that arrive as bills can sit alongside them. Nectar does not track vehicles on the road and does not manage fuel cards.
US bills can be paid through regulated payment partners, with bills that contain errors held rather than paid, or delivered to AP as coded payables.

Peaks tied to the charging hours
Where the utility provides interval data, Nectar reconciles it with the demand on the bill. A peak that arrived after a second shift of charging is visible in that month, not as a line item with no explanation.
The same usage is included in sustainability exports. It is site electricity, reported with the rest of the utility data, not a separate fleet carbon model.

Why fleet teams choose Nectar

Data
Yard and depot bills parsed at 99.2% accuracy, with demand separated from energy and each value linked to its source bill.
Automation
Bills collected as yards open, peaks flagged when they are billed, and gaps tracked as tasks.
Service
Account changes as yards are added or closed, human review of flagged bills, and a named customer success manager.
What changes for fleet teams
Charging cost has an owner
Before Nectar, yard electricity was either buried in a building bill or missing. After, the yard is its own site with its own accounts.
→ Data completenessThe peak has a time of day
Before Nectar, a demand charge was a number. After, interval data shows the hours that set it.
→ Demand managementNew yards are not invisible
Before Nectar, a yard could operate before anyone had its utility login. After, account setup moves with the yard.
→ Account open and closeFrequently asked questions
Does Nectar manage vehicles, routes, or fuel cards?
No. Nectar covers utility bills, including electricity used to charge vehicles at your sites and fuel accounts that arrive as bills. It does not track vehicles on the road.
What if the chargers are on the warehouse meter?
The shared account is still collected and the demand is visible. Buildings that should be compared with each other, without the yard load, are handled on the warehousing page.
Does Nectar install chargers or meters?
No. Nectar does not sell charging hardware or meters. It uses the bills and interval data the utility already provides.

Carbon accounting requires accurate utility data collection
Carbon accounting has 3 steps: data collection, emissions calculation, and data reporting. Error rates of 10% in data collection compound into worse error in the CDP report. Garbage in, garbage out.
