Utility bills across restaurant groups
Each restaurant is a small utility account, and a brand has hundreds of them. Nectar collects electricity, gas, water, and waste for every location and gives corporate a single view across franchise groups.

A single restaurant looks small on a utility bill. A group of them does not: gas for the cookline, electricity for refrigeration and HVAC, water, and grease or waste, each on a different account, and a steady stream of openings, remodels, and closures.
Nectar collects and validates every account, pays or codes the US bills, and lets a brand see cost per location without asking each operator for a spreadsheet.
Challenge
Openings and closures leave accounts nobody owns.
Solution
Account opening and closing is handled as locations are added or shut. Missing bills are tracked as tasks, so a new restaurant is not invisible for its first year.
Challenge
Franchise groups and corporate see different numbers.
Solution
Each group can be its own company under one organization. Brand teams see the portfolio, and operators see their own locations, from the same validated bills.
Challenge
Small bills still contain errors, and nobody has time to check them.
Solution
Every bill is checked against its history and the applicable tariff before it is paid. Bills with errors are held, and a historical audit can review up to 36 months.
Every location, every utility
Electricity, natural gas, water, and waste accounts are collected from 7,000+ utilities and parsed at the line-item level. Locations are benchmarked on cost and usage, so a restaurant that spends far more than its peers is visible.
US bills can be paid through regulated payment partners, with approval rules by location, amount, or GL code. Outside the US, or where you prefer to pay, each validated bill is delivered to AP as a coded payable.

Corporate visibility, operator control
A franchise group does not have to hand over its utility portals to see a brand-level picture. Companies under one organization keep their own access, and corporate reporting uses the same data.
The same location data supports sustainability reporting. Consumption exports to your carbon accounting platform with a link back to each source bill, which is the practical limit of a restaurant group: Scope 1 and 2 from utilities, plus waste, not a filing Nectar submits for you.

Why restaurant groups choose Nectar

Service
Human review of flagged bills, utility follow-up, and a named customer success manager who knows the brand.
What changes for restaurant groups
Hundreds of accounts, one process
Before Nectar, each location was a portal login and a PDF. After, bills arrive, get checked, and are paid or coded without manual entry.
→ Bill payNew restaurants are not missing
Before Nectar, openings lagged in the data for months. After, account setup moves with the location.
→ Account open and closeThe costly locations stand out
Before Nectar, spend was a total. After, each restaurant is compared with the group on cost and usage.
→ BenchmarksFrequently asked questions
Does Nectar bill franchisees for their utilities?
No. Nectar does not bill tenants or franchisees. It collects, validates, and can pay the utility accounts, and it can show each operator their own locations.
Can a franchise group keep its own access?
Yes. Groups can be separate companies under one organization, with members invited by role and location. Corporate sees the portfolio. Operators see their sites.
Does Nectar file our climate disclosure?
No. Nectar exports audit-ready utility and waste data to the carbon accounting platform that does the filing. It does not file CSRD, ESRS, or similar reports.

Carbon accounting requires accurate utility data collection
Carbon accounting has 3 steps: data collection, emissions calculation, and data reporting. Error rates of 10% in data collection compound into worse error in the CDP report. Garbage in, garbage out.
